If you don’t feel that you are possibly on the edge of humiliating yourself, of losing control of the whole thing, then probably what you are doing isn’t very vital.

If you’re feeling frightened about what comes next, don’t be. Embrace the uncertainty. Allow it to lead you places. Be brave as it challenges you to exercise both your heart and your mind as you create your own path towards happiness, don’t waste time with regret. Spin wildly into your next action. Enjoy the present, each moment, as it comes; because you’ll never get another one quite like it. And if you should ever look up and find yourself lost, simply take a breath and start over. Retrace your steps and go back to the purest place in your heart… where your hope lives. You’ll find your way again.

The Fibonacci Sequence As Seen in Flowers gallery by Environmental Graffiti is a math and history lesson wrapped in a pretty package of flowers.
But in the end it wasn’t up to me. The big things never are. Birth, I mean, and death. And love. And what love bequeaths to us before we’re born.

I’ve been gettin’ used to liars”
Modern Love - Matt Nathanson
Ruhstallers can you fit in a teacup?

Five.

They seriously have ears for every possible occasion these days!!

Just hanging out in a giant pink teacup.
So here we are walking in to the ceremony….and all of our faculty and staff were lined up throwing shredded paper on us…

I’m pretty sure it was all of our assignments and exams…

I spent the better part of the commencement picking bits of paper out of my hair so I didn’t look silly walking across the stage…

And there it is…

I think the picture below best sums up my feelings….

Laughing out of relief.

Thumbs up from Parker…

A picture of a picture being taken…picture inception…?

Siblings!

Goofy siblings…

Showing off the “contents” of my diploma book…

They are so impressed…Matt mostly by the tissue paper protecting the plastic…

And here’s Grayson!

He thought it was all pretty funny…

Thumbs up from everyone…except G$, who I think is just throwing his hands up at it all…

It’s not a proper celebration without cupcakes…right??

My mom brought along about 2 dozen pictures of me as a child…this one of me right after getting stitches on my forehead was one of my faves…

Here is Long Beach Lauren (not to be confused with my sister in law Lauren)

The following group of pictures have a theme: “What time is it? Time to Graduate.”
For the completely obvious reason that we are all posing in front of a clock.
So…here we go…Ally and Sara!

The little G man loves to fly…

How adorable is he?!? Seriously. I can’t even stand it.
And here is is with his Grandma! Laughin’ it up…

I love how creepy Park looks in this picture and how serious G-Cash looks. Amazing.

And there’s Miss Maribel…

Not sure what’s going on here…

Thanks to the giant mirror, Lauren made it into this cute pic of Matt, Grayson and myself!

So that about wraps it up!!!
Here we are at breakfast before heading to the boat…

And…on the boat…fun fact: Matt, Grayson and I were the non-seasick members of the family for the duration of the 60 minute boat ride…don’t let the photo of Parker reading fool you…he had to run up top for some “fresh air” about 5 minutes after this was taken.

Auntie Elle and Uncle Parker strollin’ with G-Cash…

Oh deer…

Apparently Catalina IS The Bay of the Seven Moons…it all makes sense now.

Amazing mannequin….

What are you going to do??
Go to Disneyland…obviously.

Parker and I thought we would rock the ‘sweatshirt around the waist’ look while waiting in line…although he took it a step further with a DOUBLE knot. Crazy kid.

There were a lot more pictures…but I don’t have any of them!!
This is why I need a real camera, you guys.
P.S.: I had a button that said, “Just Graduated” and everyone else in my family had buttons that said “I’m Celebrating”…it was pretty rad.
A very early breakfast…

Then off to campus…

Mia was a trooper and drove from SF to my neck of the woods, and then drove us both to Palm Springs the very next morning. What a good friend!!
I anxiously awaited her arrival…at a restaurant down the street….
Okay, full disclosure I was at my desk pretty much all day applying for jobs, writing a report and finishing up a presentation. I even did some laundry. So I was quite productive.
Around 8:00pm I was getting hungry and it just so happened that Maribel just flew back from a business trip and was ALSO hungry. So we went to eat…and Mia showed up in time to join us…

And in honor of my upcoming graduation, our awesome bartender brought us dessert…which is not pictured because we ate it before pictures could be taken.

I’m still a ‘picture pointer’
I just can’t help it.
In honor of my graduation, Mia took me to Palm Springs this weekend!!! We had a fabulous time and here are a few pictures to prove it. Not that I have to prove anything to any of you.

Our room was super cute…the beds were pretty amazing…I had a hard time parting with mine, to be perfectly honest…but one thing…the picture below:

Is that just a close up shot of some Christmas ornaments??
I thought it was funny. Mind you, we were just finishing up our second bottle of Skinny Girl Sangria…
Actually, it’s still kind of funny. And I haven’t had a thing to drink today.
And that was Part 1 of my week of Graduation Festivities.
